I am lowkey addicted to daydreaming about pretty much every situation in my life. Often when i have a problem i imagine my cooler more confident version of myself and how she handles the situation. Usually these are very unrealistic daydreams, but they’re fun? I have so many characters and storylines constantly going on in my head. My favorite form of my daydreams are when i am listening to music pacing around my room, swinging in a hammock or driving in a car. These are when the daydreams and stories are really fun. People tend to say that it’s something i need to get rid of online, but I don’t really think it’s causing me any harm. It sometimes interferes with my reality, but for the most part it has little consequences, if you don’t count someone walking in on me pacing. Should i really try to quit? I just love doing it so much... it really keeps me going.

If it's not something that's really interfering with your ability to do what you want to in real life and you feel that you have a good balance between daydreams and reality then there's no reason why you shouldn't keep daydreaming if that's what you want to do.
For most of us, the reason why we want to stop daydreaming maladaptively (just maladaptively, not daydreaming in general) is because it's taken over our life. We continually choose daydreams over real life and it prevents us from truly living. A lot of us have trouble with school or work and maintaining interpersonal relationships because of our daydreaming. If you don't feel that that's true for you, then what you're experiencing might just be regular daydreaming. It definitely has the potential to become maladaptive, but it might not be that way right now.
