alright well right now i'm 16 about to be 17, i've been daydreaming for I don't know how long exactly but I know it's been a really long time. I honestly have no clue if I have mb but I saw this article about it and was shocked because for some reason I thought everyone did those things. I usually daydream about me as the complete opposite gender which is really weird but also just things like me hanging out with my bestfriend and little things like that. my dreams usually never get that complex but they are very fun and entertaining which is why I like doing it. whenever i'm bored I just lay on my bed and day dream, any opportunity I have I just do it because I have nothing better to do. usually I can control them but sometimes I can't and I try and occupy myself to make it go away but it never works. lately they've been pretty under control which is nice. also last thing which is also annoying is that I can't sleep unless i'm day dreaming. i've tried everything to go to sleep normally but I can't unless i'm deep in a day dream

What catches my eye on you post and I read the two of them is I can and noway can sleep unless I am vividly deep in a daydream but it only takes a few minutes for me to sleep when I am in one that I am happy with was always like this from as far back as I can remember and if there is noise it ruins my sleep routine but I have got better at not allowing noise get in the way as I usually get a song stuck in my head and then I wake up the next day so maladaptive daydreaming helps me sleep in a way.

Welcome to the forum!
I usually try to stick to a comforting daydream when I'm trying to get to sleep. It gives me something to think about while I'm falling asleep so that my anxiety doesn't take over and cause me to ruminate and give me insomnia. As long as the daydreaming doesn't interfere with your ability to fall asleep, I think that it's perfectly okay to use daydreaming as a way to get to sleep.
