Hello all, This week's been all about collecting data on the amount of time MD'ing takes up to give myself a baseline... And the results are in!
Tuesday: 2hrs Wednesday: 2h 30m Thursday: 2h 15m Friday: 2h 50m Saturday: 3h 20m
It seems that I average about 2ish hours a day, my goal is to reduce it to 1hr, and now I know this is an achievable goal!
Despite this I find myself a bit squeamish at the idea of reducing the time. Still I'm determined and I will adjust to it. It's just getting the shift in mindset that's the hardest thing about breaking an addiction or bad habit, because it's damn uncomfortable.
An interesting observation for me was that it turns out that I do daydream more on days when I'm working (Fri/sat). This is possibly due to bordom, plenty of primed triggers, tiredness leading to reduction of will power, or a lack of access to alternative coping mechanisms.
Still it'd be nice to get some help with nipping this in the bud! Does anybody have any advice limiting MD while at work?
Thank you and I hope this was at least a little interesting to read! (PS sorry if this reads a bit odd I'm on mobile and a wee-bit brain foggy today.)

Mindfulness could be beneficial in teaching you to return your focus to the present whenever you drift off.
