New Daydreamer
I'm going to try to meditate and write instead of daydreaming tonight.

I am really happy to see I'm not alone in this. I'm 21, and I've been daydreaming since I can remember. I daydream when I'm at work, home, and basically everywhere else. I even daydream when I'm in the middle of a conversation with other people. Thankfully, I can hold a job and go to school, but I have to make time for daydreaming all the time. If I'm not busy doing something, I immediately start daydreaming. I honestly don't know what is wrong with me. I think my daydreaming is linked to another mental illness I might have, but I still have to get diagnosed for depression, anxiety, and social anxiety. I won't say I have these until I can get diagnosed, and I don't mean to undermine someone else's troubles with these illnesses. I've been kind of scared to come on here for a while now, but I'm tired of not being able to talk to anyone about this. I'm lucky enough to have a boyfriend who understands and listens. He can slip into MD worst than I can if he's not careful. Thankfully, he's not dealing with it right now. I don't know what else to say except I hope to talk to you all soon. I might not be on here much, because I am currently overwhelmed with work and school.

Welcome to the forum!
MD is often a coping mechanism for other mental illnesses like the ones that you mentioned. If you feel that's the case for you, you might want to look into developing some healthier coping skills. Even if you don't have mental illnesses, everyone needs coping skills.

The part where you said you have to take some time of the day to daydream. Hit me hard because I even do that. I feel bad after doing that because I have so much of my University work to finish. Take care beautiful people.
