Welcome to the forum!
Have you looked into treatment for your fear of failure? It's something that I've dealt with personally before and cognitive behavioral therapy can be quite helpful. Even just looking for tips online might be a good idea.
It can be difficult, but learning to sit with your emotions (in this case, the feeling of guilt) is super important in the process of recovering from MD. We largely use daydreaming as a way of escaping from our emotions, so learning to sit with them and allow them to exist as they are is very helpful.
