Hi I'm new here and I've been daydreaming excessively for most of my life and I feel it has become an obsession. If anyone would provide me with ways to reduce the duration I spend daydreaming it will be highly appreciated

What helps varies, but in general anything that you can do to keep yourself present or better deal with unpleasant emotions or experiences is beneficial in reducing the amount of time you spend daydreaming. Some common suggestions are exercise, mindfulness, and journaling.

I daydream alot when I am upset and  . You are suggesting to sit with my emotions but its difficult, i have made daydreaming my coping mechanism...I don't want to do it but I am unable to control myself. Help
