Topic where we can write what books we are reading at the moment and share what we think about them. i love stories, books just take a time for me because of dyslexia but hail the tekst to speech invention and audio books. i love the series called drakenmeisje "dragon girl"which is written by an italian but found around the whole world. weirdly enough it hasnt triggered md in any way. i dont even have aspects from it in by dd. i guess it was so perfect my mind didnt think it should change it .

Reading Good Omens now, in a little book club thing through the discord server. I haven't read in a long time, just haven't have the time because I tend to sit down and blitz through them as fast as I can. The book club thing is pushing me to slow down and read with everyone else. I dunno if I'll manage that all the way through, but I think it's good, lol.

Even if I tell myself that I'll only read to a certain point or time, I inevitably end up continuing to read until I finish the book. It actually makes it difficult for me to read because I know that once I start reading, I'll end up putting off everything else, no matter how important, until I finish the book and I have so many other important things to do that its hard for me to start reading, knowing that I'm probably going to lose an entire day (more if I end up starting another book).

That is exactly why I don't read a whole lot anymore. Guess when you think of it it's kinda like MD, maybe it scratches the same immersion itch. I just find it really difficult to stop. I've been doing good with this one so far though, just have to make it to monday so I can read the next block of pages.

I think I actually wrote a thread on that like last week. Good luck!

I'm reading All the light we cannot see right now and I've just got two other books I ordered: When a family member has OCD (Hershfield) and Loving someone with OCD (Landsman). I'm at the last chapter (and the most helpful) of the first one, it's really easy to read and very encouraging. I've only just looked through the second one which seems great, it also has all sort of questions and excercises for the reader. I filled in some of them and it's really helpful to me since I'm not always an active reader or I tend to rush things or somehow try to guess the ideas ahead. I highly recommend these if you know someone who has OCD and feel helpless not knowing how to help or need to see the good part of it.

Right now ... I'm reading Leviathan, by Scott Westerfield; the gorgeous new Book One of Monstress; and The Ninth Street Women, (non-fiction) about the women artists who were a part of the Modern Art movement in the U.S.
Depends on the level of my ability to focus which one I pick up.

The Castle by Franz Kafka. It's so weird it doesn't trigger dd. Sometimes I have visuals of scenes I read, but I don't change anything.

I am currently reading “The Borribles”-Trilogy by Michael De Larrabeiti. It’s about feral kids in London in the 70/80s. It’s a little bit fantasy, the kids don’t grow old if they are not caught by authorities.
Absolutely love this books, I can remember the first time I found it in the public library… must have been in the early 90s. Oh, how I longed to be a Borrible. Wild, free…

It reminds me of Peter Pan a little bit, except more modern. And much darker, especially the 2nd and 3rd book. But I just realized... The new edition has a slightly changed text! They cut out scenes! I think it was done to shorten it a bit and I am not sure how much it changes the story, but it’s really annoying! I was re-reading a chapter twice because I know there is a scene in it I always liked – and it’s gone! Had a little Victor-Meldrew-moment (“I don’t believe it!”) but I’m fine now… ;-)

Kafka's short stories. It's good to read something that you like that does not trigger dd.
