Hello Everyone! I have been a daydreamer ever since I can remember. I am in the process of figuring out what I am trying to escape by daydreaming. And also working on finding what started it all. I find that daydreaming prevents me from day to day, everyday things. I want to learn how I can stop the cycle of daydreaming so much
Daydreaming itself is totally natural and pretty much everyone daydreams. It's just when it interferes with your ability to function that it becomes maladaptive. What you're trying to escape from or cope with can sometimes be things like trauma or other mental illnesses, but it can also be basically anything that makes you uncomfortable--loneliness, boredom, low self esteem, etc.
Don't give up what you want most for what you want now.
