Hi. I have been a completely immersed daydreamer from primary school years. I have had breaks from it, mainly because of my reliance on alcohol instead during those times. Now I’m a non-drinker of 14 years and certainly fully involved in my daydreams. I have always spent a lot of time alone, particularly when I was younger and certainly nowadays. I really enjoy taking me-time and going off into one of my “ epics”. At the same time, I recognise that it isn’t particularly productive and have started to weave my actual life into my day dream life, so that when I’m doing a task, it is a task in my daydream too. I work alone in the countryside, so this is easy for me to do. When I’m not daydreaming, my hobby is to research so that I’m more knowledgeable for my daydream. I have never spoken about this before and before today I was unaware MD was even a thing, especially a negative thing. I have always seen it as an enjoyable escape.
