Hello everyone, My daughter is 12 years old and, although not formally diagnosed, we are fairly certain that she has MD given her behaviors and descriptions of her dreams. I guess I'm just looking for guidance of where to go next? Any help would be greatly apprreciated!

Identifying her core reason for her daydreaming to be maladaptive is usually a beneficial first step. For many of us, our daydreaming became maladaptive as a coping mechanism for things like trauma, mental illness, social isolation, loneliness, low self esteem, etc. Once you know the core reason, you can treat that and it should lessen the desire to daydream in a way that is maladaptive.
As a side note: daydreaming is only maladaptive if it interferes with your ability to function (often this means trouble completing tasks for work/school and maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships). Just having an “overactive imagination” isn’t maladaptive daydreaming, though may of us did start out with that and progressed to maladaptive daydreaming later.
