I found this forum because I tweeted about maladaptive daydreaming and @/daydreaminblue replied to my tweet, linking me to this forum. When I tweeted it, I didn't know that maladaptive daydreaming was a condition that was being researched on by experts. But nearly all the symptoms fit me, so now I'm determined to learn more about MD.
I have diagnoses of major depressive disorder (so I have MD and MDD?), borderline personality disorder, and high-functioning autism/Asperger syndrome. Since dissociation is common in BPD, and MD is related to dissociation, I want to know more about the possible link between BPD and MD. Personally I've been using MD as a coping method since my childhood.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you people! I hope we can support and learn something from each other.
