Don't mind me, I'm just being very late at posting this again.
As always, the point of this thread is for people to share their goals for the month and to receive encouragement in reaching them. No goal is too small.
Personally, I think that my goals for the month are to continue with exposure therapy, reteaching myself chemistry, and building up a stock of crochet items. I also, for this weekend specifically, am working on cleaning and organizing the house as an early birthday present for my mom (she's out of town until Sunday evening and the disorganized mess that is our house is very stressful for her, so I figured that I would help her out).
Reply with your goals for the month!

Okay ... here's what I'm hoping. To continue with the meditation and journaling practice I've been doing each morning. I actually look forward to it the night before (and the coffee, of course!). My writing has been stalled for a long time, after 18 years of writing two novels, editing, pitching, query letters, conferences. The last rejection had me step way back for a while and I questioned why I put all that love and effort into it. I'll be house/pet-sitting for a friend for a week later this month, and I want to take advantage of the time away from home and do *something* ... I'm of working on a novel I wrote that was originally one of my day dreams. And make a plan to sit down with my husband and figure out if we're going to try and sell our house or work on it ... not easy. My daydreaming has been pretty exhausting lately. But I'm still trying to keep healthy parameters around it! Good luck everybody!

I want to take care of myself as good as I take care of my dog, lol. This is a good goal. Self care is really important.

[…trying to choose…trying to chose…]
The door. Yes, it has to be my kitchen door. I removed almost all the old paint… about 3 years ago? Or maybe 5? I want to finish it. Well, not really finish it, because I removed the door and I need to buy new glas-panes (? The door window-thingy) and that’s way more than I can handle at the moment.
But I want to finish the frame (jambs?).
Just finish the grinding and paint it. Yes. I already have everything I need, I have more than enough time to do it, it takes about 3 hours, I already done all the other doors, it’s easy.
Yes, I want to paint my kitchen door. I need to paint my kitchen door! 4 month ago I renovated my flat and I didn’t do it. I started the whole renovation because of this damned door - and I didn’t paint it? How stupid is this? ;-)

As always try and declutter but also
1. Sign up for a craft workshops. 2. Clear and sort the item from on top of the wardrobe and dresser.
I'm sure I'll think of more but I will work on these small ones first.

That way the task seems more manageable?

Useful tip in gerneral, I agree and I use it a lot (maybe even too much?). But me and my kitchen door... It's sooo silly, I have to laugh at myself every time I tell somebody. :-) But now it's time... It's gotten kind of symbolic...

Finally be successful at going cold turkey and be consistent with ignoring urges so I can finally be able to deal with whatever’s been bothering me. It’s funny, I’m moving in to my dorm this week and I’m worrying about breaking this MD habit more than I am about college.

This wasn't one of my original goals, but I finally got my eyeglasses prescription updated after putting it off for a year and a half. It was really stressful but I still did it and I'm so proud of myself!!!

It was really stressful but I still did it and I'm so proud of myself!!! You've sneaked a goal in? Halfway through the month? Does this count at all? I'm only joking! Well done, Sam! I always hate doing things even remotely medical, so, yes, be proud of yourself. I have to pick up my paintbrush now...

Done. Not only the door frame but the whole door, new door-windows, paint and all. It's not perfect, I had to do replace some of the wooden parts and I'm not that good at woodwork. But it's not too bad, especially compared to the other doors in my flat. I should be much happier about this, it took me years(!) to get started. Now it's more like "why did it take so long?"... Well, I suppose it's better to be in a bad mood with a finished door than without one, so, yeah, job done. Thanks for this thread! And thanks for the reminder Sam!

Oh, boy. I've been crap at keeping up my intentions for August ... But it's still August and I'm renewing my goals. I, too, need to get my eyes checked and plan on doing that pronto. It's pretty bad when you can't tell if a photo is in focus, because I can't focus on the image screen, .
