I just hopped over here from the Maladaptive Daydreamers website. I've only learned of MD a month or two ago but I'm sure I've been doing it from childhood. I don't enjoy MDing as much as I use to. I think mostly because I feel I've missed out on a lot of life experiences because of it and that it really held me back. But I really can't see myself not doing it at all. I think I'd be a bland and unimaginative person but I also think maybe I'll be more present in my real day to day life. Maybe I'll really get to know myself and what I want from life. I'm 20 years old and I don't want MD to control my life anymore. I don't mean to sound so negative but I don't feel so positive I guess.

Hi David, Welcome to Daydream In Blue. I'm in a similar situation to you. I don't enjoy MDing as much as I did, I've spent to long living in my head instead of living in the real world and its meant that I've never really tried to gain new skills or have decent life experiences. Its far easier to have a rich and interesting daydream then actually commit to working hard in the real world. I hope something positive comes out of you joining here x

Hey, David! Yeah, we're all in the same boat here! It's great you understand now what you want and what you don't want. I really believe it's possible to live with MDD and not let it overtake your life. I hope this site will help you find the right solution for yourself
