I'm Tehuti...I daydream constantly but to me it isn't what I would necessarily call "maladaptive," since I'm pretty isolated (have suffered from social anxiety and depression for years) and haven't much else to do with my time. Plus, it helps me develop my characters and plots, since almost all of my daydreaming is scenes from my stories (I'm an amateur but longtime writer). The only thing is I would rather write more than I daydream. Lately my OCD has worsened quite a bit for some reason so I haven't been writing or reading much at all. :/ I tend to get longwinded BUT am also painfully shy, so, that's all for now.

I also had huge problems with social anxiety and depression caused by it - and I also daydreamed herd to make it easier. I know how it feels. Hope you’ll like it here - feel free to speak about any of that on our boards.

Welcome to DIB. A lot of people here have suffered with depression and anxiety (myself included) so you are not alone and hopefully we can support you when things are hard x

As someone who has been incredibly isolated as well, and has used daydreaming as a coping skill for that isolation, I totally get where you're coming from. I hope you find the support that you're looking for
