Hi I guess this is aimed more at the women on the board.
This might be a really odd question but I was wondering if anyone else finds at certain times of the month it is harder to daydream due to their hormonal changes throughout the month. I find at points in every month I will have days where I have a complete block with daydreaming, its like being pulled completely into reality for a few days. I can listen to music and watch films without it inducing daydreams but then a few days later I'm back with my mind wandering and daydreaming becomes easy again. I guess I'm asking just out of curiosity if anyone else finds this?

Yeah I guess this happens to me too but not as bad that i totally get blocked just that i can't get focused when I am in a daydream I get it harder to daydream.

Yes - I'm glad you asked - I thought it was just me! Some months I get almost completely blocked, other months the daydreams are still there but the settings are less fanciful and closer to reality. Each month I look forward to my hormones shifting and allowing me to daydream completely again. (But then I remember how much time I waste doing it...)

I think sometimes I tend to daydream more than usual to escape the depression that hits during PMS. I also think that my hormones and the moods that come with them affect the content of my daydreams.

I have never noticed that it changed anything.

Any type of discomfort can make it worse I think. But only a harsh sinusitis has made the daydreaming really go away by itself for a long time. Don't know why but after the infection was finally gone I didn't really have my normal olfactory sense for almost a year and daydreaming and imagination was less intense. Not a particularly welcome change. It made me feel less like myself and I cried a lot about it. I don't know if there could be other explanations as to why dd changed or my smell disappeared but if there are I have no idea what they are.

My periods are irregular, which has caused my emotions to go out of whack. However, I do understand what you mean. The beginning of my period this month led to no daydreams...like some kind of block. It felt strange, as I daydream through most of the day. Now, for the past three days...I have been completely distracted with new scenarios in my daydreams!
