Here I looked up behavioral addictions and this is what I found and added some ways to help with it as its a part of our daydreaming. daydreaminblue.freeforums.net/thread/519/project-on-addiction-md

Interesting. In summary, if I understand it correctly, he says MDD is a sort of damage control strategy consequence.
The objective of this damage control strategy is to deny/forgot a part of yourself.
The "problem" is that you can't really do that because this part of yourself you denied access to the world won't cease to exist and it's a good thing because it would me bad for your sanity.
A personnal comment about that:
Of course everyone has to do compromises in order to not being crushed by life, but it's hurtful, and you have to deal with the pain each time.

The article definitely helps a ton, but I discovered it over a year ago and still have it bad. So I guess it depends on HOW this information is applied. I am just going to try therapy again soon as a last attempt to stop it.

The article definitely helps a ton, but I discovered it over a year ago and still have it bad. So I guess it depends on HOW this information is applied. I am just going to try therapy again soon as a last attempt to stop it. Me too. I also know quite a bit about MD now, but I haven't really got better. Sometimes I think if I am putting the blame on MD to justify my failings. And its so difficult to maintain a journal, I have tried and failed many many times. Its impossible for me to even roughly tell when I started and for how long, the urge is definitely very strong and mostly I don't want to stop many times. I am not even sure if I am even actually trying to get better because I give in way too much and going cold turkey just won't happen for any extended periods of time. I wrote so much thanks for reading.
