Hi, I am where to start and am frankly very embarrassed but am glad that after all these years I might finally have found out what this is. I am currently 18 and in my first year at college. My earliest memory of when this started I was around 7 years old and my mother and father took me to some place to get tested for ADHD. My father is a...difficult man and doesn't believe in ADHD, anxiety, depression, and so on. They decided that I just had ADD and just left it as that but of course I never stopped my walking around and day dreaming. School had always been very difficult for me but as I got older and better at school I had more time to day dream. It often prevented me from sleep, hanging out with friends, and just general things but I always manged to do things last minute. Unfortunately in my family we all have a foot condition (think the opposite of someone with a flat foot along with some other bone problems) and from me walking around while day dreaming it got a lot worse that anyone else in my family to the point where I could hardly walk at all without pulling a muscle in my feet. This never stopped me though, sickness or any other type of injury usually doesn't stop me even if I end up bleeding pretty badly. Even with my "inserts" for my shoes I still experience quite a bit of pain but this is not my biggest problem. Now that I am in college I take more online courses and my on campus classes are very short. I can't keep myself on task because when left to my own devices I just day dream, which is why again after all these years I am seeking advice. I didn't mean to share this much but I have never talked about this before.

Welcome to the forum!
We understand and we're here to offer support, so don't worry about saying too much, unless its something that you're uncomfortable sharing. The point of the forum is to be able to talk about your experiences with other people who have some of the same experiences and I hope that being able to talk about it finally helps you.

Hey duck, welcome to the forum!
Hmm, what about learning with other people and/or in public places (library...). Does that help to keep you on task?
