Anyone else here in lockdown because of covid19?. I'm in new Zealand our prime minister announced a state of emergency today and my whole country is about to go into lockdown at midnight to combat the virus. Anyone else in lockdown?

I am sorry. I'm a bit ignorant about policies of countries outside of the United States, as are most Americans. I'm not entirely sure what lock down is in your country. For the U.S., we are limiting travel in and out of the country and I think at this point only U.S. citizens and permanent residents are allowed to enter the country. I don't think anybody's able to travel out willingly, of course unwilling removal from the country still continues for undocumented immigrants, my country can't even stop this deportation obsession to counter the pandemic at hand. For my particular State, they are also telling everyone but essential workers to stay home. They aren't keeping us under house arrest, we can still go for walks or to the store, but most public places are closed and no large gatherings are allowed. I'm if that's the same as your lock down, but that's what it's like here.

My country has banned all non citizens and permanent residents from entering the country. Everyone except essential workers has to be at home for 4 weeks starting today. Covid19 adds telling people what to do have started playing on TV. There was alot of panic buying the last week but it's died down now. People were buying alot of alcohol before lockdown(people in my country love to drink).

There was panic buying here too. The main shortage in this country is toilet paper. It really doesn't make any sense because it's like the first people took so much, way more than they needed. And it is constantly being depleted after it restocks. There are limits now in stores for it and other necessities.

The exact same thing happened in my country and Australia. I thought it was just an Australian thing that caught on here. I'm surprised the same thing happened in the u.s it must be a meme or something.

There's jokes about it all over the internet. I really didn't know toilet paper shortage was that widespread. It's just surprising that people from so many different places panic shop the same way. I hope it gets better where you are. Stay safe.

We've also started a lockdown in the UK. Some people aren't taking it seriously though so I think more will be done to enforce the rules over the next few days.
