Honestly, I have always thought of approaching a therapist because of this. I can so clearly feel myself daydreaming and drifting away from my day-to-day activities. But i am SO into it that i can barely pull myself out. This is a great great surprise because i am not alone!!! And there are people who are willing to actually discuss and help me through this! That's both a surprise and a relief! So, I am an Indian. Such topics are considered taboo around here. My sister is diagnosed with psychosis too. I really need to pull myself up to deal with my surroundings and reality better! Hoping this will go a long way.

Welcome to the forum!
It sucks that you can't talk to people about your MD in real life, but we're here for you. It is also important to note that maladaptive daydreaming is a lot different than psychosis. No matter how immersed in a daydream you might be, you still know what's real and what isn't. MD is a maladaptive coping mechanism that includes strong compulsions to daydream, not a form of psychosis.
