i'm kate. i'm 18 and from northeast U.S.A. i've been daydreaming since as long as i can remember, maybe back to third grade. i haven't read up much on MDD because i've kind of been afraid to confront it. i have noticed a couple of differences from other people: music is almost always a part of it, and i am always the star of my own daydreams as opposed to characters my mind makes up. also, daydreaming in a sense is my savior, as i've always fallen back on it when feeling miserable or hopeless. it clouds my mind and pushes me away from other people at the same time, unfortunately. i'd love to get to know and chat with others who can relate

Welcome to the forum, Kate!
Daydreams that are triggered by music or listening to music while daydreaming, as well as idealized self characters are common among MDers.
MD is also used as a coping mechanism, so it can really feel like a savior.
