Hi, I've been "daydreaming" since I can remember. I've realized that I create this world of my own to satisfy real life desires that I long for. Nobody knows about this. I was afraid they would think I was crazy or Schizophrenic. I take piety of anti-depressants but I've never told the doctors about this.
When I'm in "my world" I'm happy, free and the person I've always wished to be. There are days that I wish to be alone because I'd rather be in "my world." It has become terribly hard to control as of lately. Any suggestions or advice is appreciated....

Hi, welcome to the forum! I completely understand how you feel toward daydreaming. I too, feel happy, free, and the person that I wish to be in my daydreams. I also spend a lot of time alone because of my anxiety and my daydreaming. Daydreaming can be incredibly difficult to "control." Perhaps allowing the daydreaming to be, accepting it for what it is, would be a better option. You're never going to be able to completely rid yourself of daydreaming, that's just what brains do. When you fall into the pit of daydreaming, accept that it has happened and try to move on with your day. Additionally, I'm  how much its helped me because of other circumstances, but since your daydream self is the person you've always wished to be, it might be worth it to take some time and analyze the differences between your real life self and your daydream self. That way, once you identify some differences, you can decide if any of those differences are things that you could change in real life. For example, if your daydream self speaks a difference language and you don't, you could work on learning a new language in real life. Or, as most of my differences personally were... I don't want to say imaginary or mental, but maybe... differences in  ? Basically, I don't consider my real life self to be as brave or courageous (as an example) as my daydream self so the fix for that would be to change the way I think about myself and my reactions to my unhelpful thought patterns. Idk if any of this actually made sense, but I hope it helped.
