I'm Nikki and I've been a daydreamer since I was really young. I've been a source of constant frustration to people around me because I'm from a driven family and have a high IQ but can't seem to engage! My day dreaming is vivid and complex and totally distracting and gets in the way of my completing tasks and having relationships. That said, I've been moderately successful at life, mostly because of the people around me pushing me to succeed. Left to my own devices I'd sleep/ space out/ play and party 24-7. I'm incredibly to learn about all of this and talk to other people who share my way of being!!!! Yayyyyyy!!!! My only diagnosis is Generalized Anxiety Disorder, because pretty much everything in the real world causes me anxiety. I didn't know about this as a "disorder" until this evening. I'm fascinated by psychology in general and this probably stems from trying to fit in to society with my particular brain. To knownim not alone in this is everything. Thank you to the organizers and administrators here!!! If you are also dreamers, well omg you are the most generous kind. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Welcome to the forum! I think your're probably right, as a person who was 'left to their own devices' I daydreamed away years of my life. I wish I had had someone to push me a bit, but ah well, it's not right to expect someone else to do the heavy lifting for you, what happened was my own fault, but I'm glad you had people in your life to spur you onward!

Hi, Nikki! Nice to meet you here! I have General Anxiety Disorder too - I guess that’s a common thing for us, dreamers.
Hope you’ll like the forum.
