Hello! I'll start saying that English is not my mother language, so forgive me for my mistakes or inaccuracies. I casually discovered MDD online, and I think it fits perfectly to me. I've never been able to lead a completely normal lifestyle because of my disability, and daydreaming/fantasizing was my way to cope with it. I'm also a self-diagnosed (don't judge me please) Aspie, and high-functioning autism surely played a role with it. But I can hardly define my fantasy world "maladaptive", because it never caused me distress of worse. I'm kinda balanced about it, I guess. All my problems derive from my disability and people around me (I was shunned and bullied during elementary school and junior high, and affected by some "soft bullying" during high school), and because of the flaws of my old personality, while my fantasy world has always been my salvation. I really think that I would be depressed and/or suicidal without it. Anyway, I hope to have a good time here!

Welcome to the forum! There are plenty of people on here who's first language isn't English, so don't worry about it. It's okay, too, that you don't consider your daydreaming to be problematic. Its often a coping skill, and when used properly, which you seem to do, it isn't problematic.
