Hi, Has anyone experienced that MD leads to procrastination. In my case it definitely does though i'm if MD is the culprit or some other underlying cause. I have rarely met project deadlines. Because i'm so convincing in giving excuses that usually i get extensions. But that only adds to the problem as i still do not utilize the given time productively. It has been a life long problem for me. If any one has faced similar issues, would like to hear from you. Have a great day. Best, Ravi

I definitely do this. My anxiety usually keeps me from missing deadlines, but I'm definitely not efficient with my time. Because of my anxiety, I usually get everything that's absolutely necessary done, but I spend so much time daydreaming that I'm like 2 to 5 times less efficient than I am when I don't spend quite as much time daydreaming. Which basically means that when I don't spend so much time daydreaming, I get 2 to 5 times more stuff done than I usually do. One would think that this would be a good motivator to not daydream so much ("wow, I get so many things done!"), but it honestly doesn't really make much of a difference.

I have worked so hard in my life on earning money and dealing with emotional and physical issues.

Procrastination was a terrible issue. When I'm stressed because I'm forced to do something I don't like or I'm not good at, procrastination make me start to work very late, without asking any help AND when there is few time left, MDD ruin it.
I have not delivered some mandatory projects when I was student. For some others I have made very poor job. Few projects were nevertheless ok.
Some simple advices:
- There is no secret you have to start early. Do things as soon as you can because the less pressure you feel, the better it is.
- You should cut the problem in small chunks. The smallest, the better. Something easy and straightforward is less prone to be interrupted by daydreaming.
- You can't save time by avoiding to ask questions (to your teacher / boss / client). Ask questions as soon as possible and show what you have done before the final milestone.
- If something is too hard: you can still retry or cut in smaller chunk or ask for help.
- Don't take it personnaly, don't get emotionnal: it's just things you have to do.
