Hey everybody! I'm so happy to see a forum about this that is actually still active. I just wanted to say hello to everybody!c: I don't actually know when I started daydreaming. I think I just always have and never realised it's not really normal(?) for everyone. I first conciously realised this might be out of the norm when it started actively interferring with my school work in highschool. It wasn't until recently, however, that I discovored that I wasn't alone in this. So forgive me for this😂but I am quite curious about it all and the experiences other people have with MD. Do you usually daydream about yourself (in various situations) or is it others (fictional or not)? Also, can you talk about this to a therapist? I found that MD is a pretty newly 'discovered' disorder, so I've been wondering if therapists actually know about it and understand it (especially older ones)? I really want to talk to someone about it and the last time I tried mentioning it to a best friend, she just laughed and said that 'it's ' that I actually like daydreaming and do it for longer amounts of time every day. I'd hate to repeat that experience, but I really would like someone to talk to about it (which is also why I registered to this). Anyway, thanks to everyone that responds and hope we can all get along:)

Welcome! I think it's a good idea to tell a therapist about it. Even if they have no idea wtf you're talking about they can still help. Just explain your symptoms and concerns as accurately as you can.

Welcome to the forum! There's a poll here about whether your daydream characters are yourself or fictional. You might find it interesting to look at. Some people have responded with details about their characters. There's actually quite a wealth of information on all of the boards and you'll be able to get a much better idea of other people's experiences if you look around the forum.

Welcome to the forum. As MD isn't a recognised disorder it may be hard to find many people or a therapist that understands but it is always worth trying to talk to one and explaining your issues in as much detail as possible. Good luck
