Hi there!
Very interesting to find out that there’s a term and forums for something I’ve done for my whole life, and that there are definitely different severities and causes.
I’m 25 and have had these daydreams for pretty much as long as I can remember, so not really sure what the initial cause would be. I’ve been lurking around the forums and I’ve seen other stories, some of which partially mirrored my own, others not so much. I’m not very concerned about the cause so much though, personally.
It’s been a good number of years now that I’ve recognized that what I do is neither normal nor helpful, but also not as debilitating as others have experienced in this forum. It’s not something I fret about constantly, but there’s always a twinge of guilt, shame, or fatigue in varying amounts after one of my “mental vacations.” Haha.
Looking forward to interacting with everyone and maybe offering some advice about my experience with MD!

Welcome to the forum! Its good that you've been able to recognize that your daydreaming has become a problem and equally good that you don't seem to be quite as bothered by it as some people. I think that most people have gone through the stage you're in now, but without recognizing that they were heading for something bad, it just got worse and worse. Being able to recognize that your daydreaming is becoming a problem before it completely takes over your life is really good.

Welcome! Finding the cause really hasn't been on my priority list either, I'm not even sure there ever as a particular one.
