So I just made a separate thread on how daydreaming has created a dependence on weed for me. Of course...that's bad. I want to further explain how it's ruined my life in the past few months. So I got my own apartment in September. Before, I would daydream in controlled conditions. I had priorities that I needed to stick to because otherwise, my parents would punish me. But since having my own freedom, I've become dependent on alcohol and weed because of how vivid it makes my daydreams, and I have quit 3 jobs because I wanted more time to daydream, and I dropped out of school and lost my scholarship because my academics were suffering so badly due to the daydreaming. I can't pay my bills. My credit score is so low I can't look at it. I've been looking for a job and had an interview the other day, so fingers crossed. Daydreaming used to be a coping mechanism. Now it's creating all my problems. I can't get help because I don't have the money. It's a vicious cycle, I don't know where it's gonna end.

I don't have much idea but i just wanted to write it out. I know it is just stupid of me to write this but is there no way you can talk to someone about your daydreams? Sometimes it pushes us into such a hellhole that it is hard to get out. If you consider this something of similar sorts i think that this might just be the breaking point after which it might be too hard to get out of this cycle. Usually people who aren't daydreamers have a different outlook. Talking to someone will help you find a way to get out of this. Hope you find a way

I totally understand not being able to afford professional help, but at least we have the internet for hen we have to go it alone. CBT and Mindfulness are recommended for MDers, and there's lots of free stuff about that on the web. Plus communities, like this one, or even branch out a bit, there are general forums like seven cups of tea that might help, maybe 'habit breaking' communities, or 'get motivated' communities.
