I had no idea that I had maladaptive daydreaming until I decided to do "intense" research on it. Since I was a kid I been having these symptoms and thought nothing much of it until this summer when it got pretty bad. I thought I was crazy and other people did too. But I found this Daydream in Blue through a website that I was researching on. It made me realize I was not the only one.

Welcome to the forum!
Maladaptive daydreaming occurs when your brain's normal daydreaming grows out of control. Its irritating and can be quite harmful, both physically and mentally, but rest assured that other people do it as well and it doesn't necessarily mean that there's anything wrong with you. Of course, there is the chemical processes involved in what is essentially an addiction for most of us and a lot of us do have co occurring mental illnesses (caused or exacerbated by MD). But you aren't crazy.
