Hi, For as long as I can remember I have always day dreamed. I have never really seen it as a problem until tonight when I found an article about Maladaptive Day Dreaming, which kinda threw me as I didn't think anybody else vividly day dreamed like myself. However, I am not 100% sure that its Maladaptive. Like I said I have never seen it as a problem and I enjoy it as it allows me escape and most of the time be some one who I am not. After reading about MDD, I did start about how much time at work I have wasted from falling in to a daydream, how much I lie around in bed because of daydreaming and sometimes it is so bad that I just cannot stop to the point that someone could be talking to me and I will fall back in to it. I do make facial expressions, say things under my breath and even catch myself going to a dance (if that's what I'm dreaming about). I can almost feel everything that is happening; emotions, actions ect. I dont know if I have any triggers but i do know that I cannot watch or read anything without having to stop and go in to a day dream. I also cannot sleep without daydreaming first (which can keep me up for hours) plus I sometimes use music within my daydreams by listening to it through my headphones. I feel like I'm talking nonsense and getting worked up as I have never really put much thought into it nor have I ever told anyone about it. I would just like to know opinions! Thanks 😊

Welcome to the forum!
If you can't read or watch things without daydreaming, then those are definitely triggers for you. They're pretty common ones, as is music, which you mentioned as well.
If you explore the forum you'll see that there are a great variety of threads about an almost infinite number of subjects. Feel free to post in the threads or create your own if you feel comfortable.
