Hi guys,
I'm returning to therapy partly because I have MD, self-diagnosed. I'm 99% sure as someone used to ask me who I'm talking to when I would do it, so clearly it showed in my face and moving my mouth. I'm so so embarrassed by this problem, I rarely tell anyone; it took a lot to tell my therapist. I've done it all my life; it prevents me from being in the present reality and being more productive. Glad there's a place to talk about it because I feel like a freak, especially if people notice it.
I know I do it compulsively partly because of a fear of being alone and as a tool to prevent being alone with my thoughts because of a fear of depression and suicidal depression.
I've never been diagnosed as OCD because I don't do any of the classic symptoms, but I do have a problem with repetitive thoughts. Are these things related?
anyway, enough babbling.

Rumination is a core feature of OCD that causes a person to spend an inordinate amount time worrying about, analyzing, and trying to understand or clarify a particular thought or theme.
If you look up 'pure O' or 'primary OCD' you should find a lot of information on an OCD type that doesn't include the physical manifestations and rituals. This includes things lik intrusive thoughts that can be really distressing in nature and theme.
As for returning to therapy its really great that you can see that you have some issues that you need to work on and that you are taking the steps to find solutions or ways to manage them. I know myself I often identify a problem then don't make enough effort to change them. Good luck with it.

Hello, my friend.
I am new in this forum.
I absolutely understand you because that is happening to me my whole life. It is a problem I have never told anyone because I feel ashame about it and people in general don't show empathy with this, and even when they are supposetly good and try to help always finish throwing fuel to the fire.
About it, I want to offer you all my respect and support.
