This is mainly for the people who are older like around adult age 18 and up. Have you ever been so disconnected from reality, that you didn’t know how to do simple things like calling a doctors office and scheduling an appointment and knowing how to be thorough and making sure nobody is taking advantage of you. Because at 21 it really sucks. I called just to schedule an appointment for blood work and my mom got upset at me because she was like “you have to be thorough” “how do you not know how to do that?” And it’s like I’ve nobody has ever taught me certain things before my adulthood. This is one of the reasons why I loved daydreaming so much is because there was so much abandonment in the form of adults not helping me and showing me certain things to know so I can be more prepared. This is why I struggle so much in reality because nobody is helping me to understand. There are certain things you should know on your own which that’s not the problem but I’m tired of people just assuming I know things and waiting for me to screw up for them to tell me at this age. That’s really frustrating.

Setting up direct debits, booking appointments and keeping track of them, managing to run a home and what to do about repair, things like learning about insurance etc. Basically everything. I don't feel like I'm capable or knowledgeable for so many basic adult task that its unbelievable. Some of it is anxiety. I need an electrical repair on my flat in my bedroom and I'm scared to ring someone and have them come over. I went out and bought a lamp instead and I'm just ignoring a problem that may become dangerous.
I saw that they run 'Adulting classes', like that is seriously a thing and I would book one if it was available near to me. I think they need to start teaching more basic life skills in schools.I don't need to learn the value of X or how to dissect a pigs heart but I do need to learn how to budget, iron, do basic DIY or if I drove things like how to change oil. No one is born with skills, we are all taught what we now know at some point in our lives so we all need support, education and guidance to learn anything and I don't think its always available.
