I am new here...I m 20 years old & I m daydreaming since as long as I can remember I tried several times to stop daydreaming but the urge never stops I must say I m addicted to this habit and I always knew I had mental issues and now eventually I m seeking help I daydream in regular basis several times a day it affects my works and studies...sometimes I can't focus properly..like while reading or watching movies sometimes I just pause and start plotting myself in their world and it takes me forever to finish a book or a movie... Daydreaming has affected me during my exams as I couldn't stop during those times...I actually plot stories during those dreams...and i have habits of filling those stories with clear plots like characters' age height like everything...sometimes I just get out of bed and use calculator to strictly match the details...I have also faced akward moments because of this habit like sudden moments and weird facial expressions..lack of focus to the conversation.

Hey Daydreamer333,
welcome to the forum!
Sometimes I do the calculator thing, too. Or spend hours on google maps to find a "realistic" setting...

Hey Daydreamer333. Welcome to the forum. I have the same problems with exams. I also had "zoning out" experiences that were actually me daydreaming while I should have been listening. I've had people comment about things like me crying and I would answer coming up with a story line. That happened multiple times. It's frequent I guess.
