I am a new member and would like to thank the administers of this website for providing a place to open up and share with others who can relate to MDD.
I am in my 50s now. I don't know when my childhood daydreaming went from normal to MDD, but I have struggled with it most of my life. I'm an only child and often wonder how much of that played a part in the cause. About 2 years ago I did a search on the internet and found out there was a name for this addiction and that there were others who struggled with it as well.

Hi, I am glad that you found this forum. I have received so much support here and hope the same for you. It is nice to have people around who feel the same. I also believe that being alone for longer durations in childhood aids in normal daydreaming to become a maladaptive coping strategy.
