Oh my god its November already. Anyways, here is the accountability/goals thread for this month. For those who haven't participated before, this thread is a place where you can write about goals that you have for the month, no matter how small they might be. You can give and receive encouragement in achieving the goals. A lot of MDers have trouble setting goals and staying accountable to them because of the daydreaming, and this thread tries to help with that. Personally, after doing A LOT last month, I think I'll take it a bit easy on my goals this month. - The main thing that I have going this month is an appointment with my academic advisor to, idk, try to plan out my degree? I'm not sure, but I have an appointment scheduled for the 12th and I really need to actually do it, even though it will be very stressful.
- I want to review enough of the math concepts that I feel comfortable enough to take the math placement exam by the end of the month. Technically I shouldn't have to review anything because you take the exam, they create a study module thing, and then you take the exam again, but perfectionist brain doesn't like the idea of scoring badly on the first try.
- I'd like to do more socializing. I'm planning on trying to videochat with my friends more often, both to talk to them and so that I can practice doing things under pressure. I'd also like to visit with my great-aunt when she and her husband come up for the holidays.
- I need to work more on shop stuff, including applying for a Sellers Permit and finishing up pricing everything.
- This is more of a "maybe do it if you're feeling up for it buts not a big deal if you don't" kind of thing, but now that I've officially switched primary care physicians, I'd like to go in to get a physical and talk to my new doctor about some concerns that I've been ignoring for a long time.
This still looks like a lot tbh. Unfortunately for me, now that I've got the ball rolling on college and shop stuff, I'll probably end up with bigger goals for at least the next 2 months. Hopefully it'll even out after I start classes and open the shop, but that won't be until at least January. I'm looking forward to hearing everyone else's goals. As always, don't be off put by my personal large goals. Any goal is a good goal and belongs on this thread, even if you think that its small or inconsequential :)

A lot of MDers have trouble setting goals and staying accountable to them because of the daydreaming, and this thread tries to help with that. i want to take my homework a little bitt more serious because i have heard it helps with preparing for tests and understanding things better. i want to take care of the (school)drama that is surrounding me right now. i want to buy a silver necklace for my mom to restore our relationship and go out to diner with her to talm things over. i want to reduce my time spent in bed from 12-16 hours a day (on schooldays) to a maximum of 8 hours. so no eating in bed, learning in bed, homework in bed or writing from bed anymore. i want to make things good with my sister and return to how we were before quarrel. i want to start working out again (is linked to the bed goal). i want to finally go get the mri scan i had planned but canceled for my headaches. enough for now, will update later

yasmine These are all very good goals! Doing the homework you're given does usually help with tests. Really, the more you read the material, generally the better you're going to understand it. I know from personal experience how hard it is to spend less time in bed. Especially if it feels like a safe space. Is there somewhere else in your room that you could be at instead? I spend most of my time at my desk now, and strictly don't let myself lay down on my bed unless its time to go to sleep or if I'm really feeling terrible. I hope you can get your MRI done and that it gives you the information you're looking for. I've been putting off getting one done for my headaches for years, so I can understand this.

Difficulty level 4/5. - Fix one of my bikes and get the other one fixed by a professionnal. Difficulty level 2.5/5. - Stick to my new healthy lifestyle and cook most of my food. Difficulty level 2/5. - Clean my house and get ride of some of my crap. Trash some old cloths and buy new. Difficulty level 2/5. - Improve the specifics technical skills I need right now for my job. Difficulty level 5/5. I'm actually stuck with that. - Improve my english skills. Difficulty level 1/5, because I don't need to plan a lot for now. By writing this mere post, I'm actualy yet improving my english skills ... Already completed: 02/11/2019 - Find the procedure to get real transaction amounts from "cadastral authority". It will help my mother because she want to sell one appartment and need a precise evaluation. It may also help me to buy my appartement without overpaying it. Difficulty level 1/5.
13/11/2019
- Bike #1 is fixed. Bike #2 should be checked by a professional. I was not fine last saturday but I would bring my bike to a professionnal next saturday.
- I listen and read english on a daily basis
- I eat well and exercise. I took some antianxiolitics pills, but only when I absolutely needed them. I have drunk some alcool but not too much, so I think it's still ok. I should receive a new supplement today, ZMB pills (Magnesium + Zinc + B6), it should help me to sleep better. I'm already taking a good multivitamin supplement, omega-3 and glycine.
- House cleaning is ongoing. I need to find how I can properly get rid of some specific item like a big tempered glass or a computer monitor.
- About buying an appartment and work on my professional skills, I have yet done nothing this month :(

Just popping in really quick to say that my academic advising appointment went really well. I was super anxious beforehand, but the lady was really nice and she helped me register for my spring classes! I'll be taking a 1 credit kind of introductory class in term 1, then an intro to psychology class and a "major and career exploration" class in term 2. I'm really excited!
Does anyone else have any updates (or new goals)?

I haven't actually set many goals for myself this month.
I need to get through a medication increase and hospital appointments without getting to stressed by it all and sick.
Exercise more. As its getting colder and darker I haven't been going out walking so I'm getting very little exercise.

We're over halfway through the month (already? I could have sworn it was still the middle of October), does anyone have any other updates or new goals?

I'd like to just address the problem of MD in therapy; I've just restarted with my old therapist. I never really tell anybody about the specifics of this, so it will take some nerve for me to do this.
I'd also like to retype a script I wrote; it's done I just need to format it. I've been postponing on this for months and it shouldn't be that hard.
I'd also like to stop shopping on this site that I've been almost compulsively shopping on.

Med increase is going ok but I am still very tired from them. I have a few things that I need to sort before the end of the month and the main thing is catching up on the housework. I'm getting really behind with it and I'm just hiding from it and not putting in much effort to change things again.

Talking to your therapist is a good goal. Try not to be discouraged if they don't know about MD though, many health professionals don't. But whether they already know about MD or not, as long as they're understanding, they should be able to help you, especially if your MD stems from other mental health conditions.
